Contact Friends of GDT
There is no longer a formal Great Divide Trail Association. A loose group calling themselves the Friends of the Great Divide Trail has been performing annual or biannual trail maintenance on specific areas of the Trail. Typical work is bridge-building, brush clearing and reblazing. If you are interested in assisting, please use the contact below.
Most trail descriptions are based on trips taken in 2008 and 2009. If you feel a description is really out to lunch, or especially if it led you astray, we do want to know about it. Also, if you find conditions are quite different than described, through windfall or vandalism, we want to know about that too. Dirt bike and riders have been illegally using the Trail through the Beehive Natural Area and Kananaskis Country. Documenting the trail destruction and alpine degradation is the only way we can apply pressure for better enforcement.
